Mr J Telfer & the laser suit at Glasgow royal Infimary
Mr Telfer has been my Plastic surgeon for the past 2 years. If it was not for him I think I would be in a sorry state now. He is a gyn plastic surgeon (For those of us who do not have their sinus in the cleft of the buttock) He really has supported me and kept my chin up. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
The laser suit nurses also have been great and I feel the laser treatment made a big difference to my last operation (Now sinus free for the first time in years) |

RE: Mr J Telfer & the laser suit at Glasgow royal Infimary
Hi
I've just read your review. I've suffered from pilonidal abscesses for year and have had many incision and drainages but never had laster treatment. I'm also a patient of Mr Telfer from Glasgow Royal Infirmary and have had 2 lots of plastic surgery to cut away infected tissue. Can you explain more about laser surgery please? |

RE: Mr J Telfer & the laser suit at Glasgow royal Infimary
Yes The laser clinic is in the royal infirmary and is run in the plastics unit (Mr McKay is the lead consultant and caroline I believe is the head nurse)
Basically you go approx 1 in every 6 weeks and haveyour hair removed by laser - I have found research that linked the removal of hair to better healing and lower sinus formation (Basically the hairs can grow internally or they can enter the sinus and can cause it to remain open). Its the closest thing to permanent hair removal. Ask Mr Telfer to refer you to the clinic. If you tell him you were speaking on a forum to a girl who recomended it she had had two genitailia reconsructions done due to PS under him (Last one was on the 23rd of december) he will know who you mean..... (Steven this forum rep has my e-mail address which would provide you with my name if need be). The last operation I had (After a number of laser sessions) is the first op in a total of 7 which I have not formed a sinus after the drainage and reconstructive operation. I would highly recomend laser as it may help stop the re-occurrance it also makes care of any surgical scars far easier. |
